Anna Sergeevna Kournikova in russo: Анна Сергеевна Курникова [?] (Mosca, 7 giugno 1981) è una ex tennista e modella russa. Famosa per la sua bellezza e i suoi capelli biondi lunghi fino alla vita, oltre che per il suo tennis, divenne una delle più celebri tenniste al mondo, anche tra i non appassionati. All'apice della sua fama, i suoi ammiratori in cerca d'immagini di Kournikova fecero del suo nome (o delle storpiature) una delle parole più ricercate su Google[1] (il suo cognome è spesso scritto come Kournikova a causa delle traduzioni dall'inglese o dal francese, sebbene la traslitterazione corretta dal cirillico sia Kournikova).
È nata a Mosca, nell'allora Unione Sovietica, figlia di Alla e Sergei Kournikov; la famiglia in seguito emigrò negli Stati Uniti. Attualmente vive a Miami, in Florida.
La carriera di Anna Kournikova nel tennis di alto livello è ormai interrotta da anni, e probabilmente per sempre, a causa di gravi infortuni alla schiena ed alla colonna vertebrale. Ha ottenuto modesto successo nel singolare, ma la sua specialità è stata il doppio, dove è stata alcune volte numero 1 al mondo. In coppia con Martina Hingis ha vinto titoli del Grande Slam in Australia nel 1999 e nel 2002.

Born in Moscow, Russia, on 7th June 1981, Anna Kournikova started to play tennis at the age of 7. She turned professional at the age of 14 and went on to win the European Champions and Italian Open junior tournaments. At the age of 15, she made her Grand Slam debut and reached the fourth round of the U.S Open. As a Grand Slam winner in Australia in 1999 and 2001, with Martina Hingis as her partner, she proved her specialty in doubles. The highest singles world ranking she achieved in International tennis career is #8. In the year 2004, she retired from professional tennis due to chronic lower back trouble. Besides being a tennis player, she is also a famous model and was voted as the 'Sexiest Woman in the World' in FHM's 100 Sexiest Girls poll for 2002. . -
